I'm unsure whether it was actually planned or not.Īlso, why did Watson's wife bring him and Holmes to the church to discover the truth of the feminist cult? Personally I haven't found anything wrong with it (except the whole "Sherlock crying" being a hint thing, because it's quite obvious that Sherlock is not a sociopath, he just desperately wants to be one) and it would give Sherlock a sort of depth that I could appreciate (before this special). There is a theory that Sherlock made Moriarty think he was poisoned. There is a formula in the note - VKE=25/2E.

The binary code in the note, what does it say? I was not able to translate it. Is Sherlocks mind palace influenced by the artist? And what for the dog? The work of Vernet does remind me very much of the fall where Sherlock and Moriarty had the fight. I do not completly understand why it's ther. His note, that Mycroft hold towards the end, it has the name of his dog - Redbeard, and also the name of an artist - Claude Joseph Vernet. The line Sherlock is saying at the very end was a very nice gesture, loved it.Ī few things I am not sure about in the note Mycrofft had: Not saying it was simple or easy to comprehense, oh not at all, but in the end of the episode you can easily understand how everything connects to the actual show. Usually when this kind of fiction is done, it's confusing and a mess, but I must say Moffat and Gatiss both did a wonderfull job making it crystal clear. Just finished watching it, I thought it was brilliant. It's quite intellectually dishonest to anyone who's opened a history book. It's not just black and white as if women were victimised perpetually and men were just having the time of their lives. The suffragettes were also disgusting to men who didn't go to war, Nice how they never mentioned their White Feather movement, which drove many men to suicide. It was a pitiful attempt by the government to boost morale as if it made the cause any better. If you lose morale in Battle and refuse to go any further, You'll be shot for insubordination, by your own COs." This is why men got the vote first, Women weren't called up to go to war, so they didn't get the vote at the same time. If you resist, you'll be shamed as a coward and ostracised. Here's how it worked: "Some of you get to vote, Men, but every single one of you can be called up for being shot at the Somme. The way ordinary men got the vote was by conscription in WW1. Just incase you can't tell, BOTH men and women were treated like shit by the upper-classes and the ruling elite in this time period. Oh and whilst they were down a coal pit, foundry or factory for 14 hours a day, I'm sure that was a breeze compared to house work. Great, Are they really going to downplay the men's side of the suffrage issue? Only the upper classes and land owners could vote, Ordinary men had no representation either. I loved the episode, But the BBC political bias just shines through like no other, to the point of almost feeling ham-fisted. It did take me 3 times of watching to fully realize that though. The actually interesting part that requires some attentiveness is still there.
#Pbs sherlock abominable bride online series
It's so multi layered, and I can say that about the entire series, but series 3 just takes away some of that superficial layer. Meanwhile still being oblivious to why people are touched by it, which makes it even more touching.

The scene where sherlock gets shot is one of my favorite moments in the series, and i think the wedding speech is touching, but even more incredible if you consider sherlock's psychological background and the fact that he managed to write a speech where he not only explains he is an ass, but also shows it by giving a bunch of inappropriate remarks about marriage, which seems like a dick move at a wedding, but actually serves as a most likely pre-calculated contrast to what he says afterward about john and how much he appreciates him, and mary being his wife. Not only did it start with the ridiculous but amazing fanfic interpretation of how sherlock escaped death, it left out most of the superficial stuff that is mostly just sherlock showing off, while still retaining the depth of the story, consistency of the characters' behaviour, and the slight hints of character's out"chess"-ing eachother in a subtle way that allows the viewer to actively think about and perhaps "deduce" what is truly going on. Seasons 3 was actually really good in my opinion. R/television's favorite shows of all time (2021 edition)
